PEK/AMEA is a non-profit organization founded in 1993, specializing in special care for adults with intellectual disabilities. Operating through its day care center, PekAmeA, and its upcoming Assisted Living Facility “IOANNA”, the organization offers a range of services including health monitoring, psychological support, occupational therapy, and social activities. PEK/AMEA’s mission is to enhance the self-esteem and autonomy of individuals with intellectual disabilities through skill development and community involvement. It also organizes community awareness actions and provides integrated social settings for its clients.

Activity details

Volunteering Activity Description:

Volunteers at PEK/AMEA engage in both field and administrative tasks. Field activities include assisting with holiday crafts, gardening, and building maintenance. Administrative tasks involve archiving, graphic design, and supporting event planning for upcoming fundraisers. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of adults with intellectual disabilities through creative and supportive activities, as well as help in organizing and managing various projects and events.

Volunteer Duties:
-Assist with creating handmade crafts for the holiday season (October – November).
-Support gardening and maintenance tasks at the facility.
-Participate in building upkeep and decoration.
-Provide administrative support including archiving, graphic design, and event coordination.
-Help with planning and executing fundraising campaigns and other community awareness events.
