"Read for Others" is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing equal access to literature for individuals who cannot read due to disability or illness. The organization creates audiobooks and offers reading services, fostering a more inclusive society where everyone has the right to education and learning. With a large community of over 6,000 participants and 450 active volunteers, the organization builds meaningful connections between volunteers and beneficiaries, promoting the importance of accessibility and inclusion in education.

Activity details

Volunteering Activity Description:

Volunteers will contribute to making literature accessible to those who cannot read due to various disabilities. Tasks include recording audiobooks, scanning books for transcription, organizing the organization’s library, supporting the social media team, and helping with the preparation and participation in events. This role provides an opportunity to engage with a diverse community and make a meaningful impact by enhancing access to knowledge for visually impaired individuals, the elderly, and others who face barriers to reading.

Type of work: Both administrative & field

Volunteer Duties:
-Assist in organizing the library, including cataloging books and preparing orders.
-Scan and prepare books for audio recording to be accessible to visually impaired individuals.
-Contribute to organizing and promoting the organization’s presence at events and festivals.
-Support content creation and management for social media platforms.
-Help with research and article writing for various organizational projects.

Season: Whole Year

Start date: 01/10/2024 | End date: 31/12/2025

Hosting details: 1 week – 4 weeks
Available during the whole year, except the period of the national holidays (Christmas, Easter) and our summer break in the middle of August.
