by Cotranspose

Organization Description:
Cotranspose reclaims spaces—both physical and conceptual—to foster creativity, connection, and care. Recognizing that spaces hold the potential for exchange and belonging, we transform inactive or inaccessible spaces into hubs for co-creation, prioritizing community engagement and inclusivity. Our approach emphasizes radical hospitality, resisting competition and exclusion, and celebrating individuality and lived experience. We aim to create accessible, locally relevant, and sustainable spaces for all, fostering long-term engagement and a sense of shared ownership.

We actively engage international and local communities, offering a range of cultural, educational, and social programs. Our activities take place in Northern Evros, Greece, an area significantly affected by depopulation and inaccessibility—a reality that profoundly shapes our mission to revitalize the region. These activities include residencies—from self-initiated stays for individual reflection and research to group experiences like our Spring Residency and Festival, designed to foster collaboration and exchange—alongside workshops, community-led projects, and initiatives that connect creatives and communities.

Ultimately, our impact is centered on transforming communities through horizontal methodologies that empower ownership, foster sustainable change from within, and cultivate a lasting sense of belonging and collective responsibility.
