Cyclades Unified is a non-profit organization focused on preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Cyclades islands in Greece. It is dedicated to documenting and revitalizing Cycladic traditions through storytelling and educational projects. Its mission is to raise awareness of environmental issues through the “Storytelling Waves” workshops, incorporating new strategies for sustainable practices. It aims to connect locals and visitors with the region’s cultural identity, and traditions, adopting initiatives that include creative writing, artistic exhibitions, and collaborations with educational institutions, and stakeholders. Volunteering Activity Description:
Volunteers will support Cyclades Unified in documenting Cycladic cultural heritage through video recordings and participating in the production of short films. They will conduct interviews, gather and organize materials, and assist in research to ensure comprehensive data collection. Volunteers should be flexible, organized, and possess good time management skills. The role involves researching historical sources, analyzing data, and contributing to the creation of educational and promotional content about Cycladic traditions and practices.

Volunteer Duties:
-Assist in documenting Cycladic cultural heritage through video recordings and interviews.
-Participate in the production of short films, including material organization and data collection.
-Conduct research on historical sources and Cycladic traditions for accuracy.
-Contribute to the analysis and comparison of collected data.
-Support the development of educational and promotional content related to Cycladic culture.
Season: Spring, Summer
Start date: 01/05/2025 | End date: 31/07/2025
Hosting details: 1 week – 4 weeks
May to July, maybe also during Easter time

Qualifications the volunteer should posses:
-Good athletic condition, student/researcher in relation to cultural heritage, communication skills
-good knowledge of Greek.
-Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs
-desirable previous experience in NGO in the field of project support and dealing with digitization of material
-podcasts and media postings. Pleasant and communicative personality, with ability to adapt behavior depending on the space and the people with whom he/she comes in contact
Very good ability to work in a team
Hosting Organization provides:
-Transportation from Athens to Kimolos for 2 volunteers
-Accommodation with breakfast/ one meal
-Full equipment, in case it is needed
-Certificates of participation
