by Cancer Guidance Center – Kapa3

Organization Description:
The Cancer Guidance Center was founded in March 2020 by a group of caregivers, where
shared experiences became the motivation for innovative thinking and offering help. The
methodology of the initiative is mainly based on collaboration with private and public
entities. The methodology includes:
a) Mapping of cancer cases within a specific age range and time frame to assess the scale of
the problem
b) Development of communication channels
c) Creation of targeted interventions for patients to inform and activate them regarding their
rights.
d) Organization of counseling and legal assistance for beneficiaries.
In 2021, the Personal Assistant Program – Patient File Management was created, where
each request generates a file for processing. A team of healthcare professionals studies,
informs, guides, and processes the request.
In 2022, taking the next step with the help of the K3 app for communication and file
management, the Mobile Prevention and Intervention Unit was created, in collaboration
with the Theagenio Hospital and the Research Laboratory of the International University of
Athens. This initiative ensures that both the patient and their environment receive optimal
care through the operation of a supportive structure for information and awareness.
In 2023, the second mobile unit operated within the University General Hospital of
Alexandroupolis, in collaboration with academic departments from the Democritus
University of Thrace and the International Hellenic University.
The two units were awarded at the Health Business Awards 2022 & 2023, with Kappa3
receiving the Bronze Award for its contribution to healthcare.
In 2024, a new program was launched with the support of the King Baudouin Foundation,
focusing on organizing actions in the regions of Macedonia and Thrace, targeting refugees
and migrants in the area.
